OUR
MONOPOLIES

SAINT-ROMAIN
LE CLOS DU CHÂTEAU

Situated at the bottom of Château de Saint-Romain, on the upper slopes of the hillside, Le Clos du Château is a monopole of Domaine Coste-Caumartin. The estate’s 2.20 hectares of white Saint-Romain (0.60 hectares are not yet in production), including Le Clos du Château, stretch across a south-east-facing hillside on marl and limestone soil with layers of clay, which is particularly well-suited to Chardonnay.

Le Clos du Château, now 31 years old, covers 85 ares and is none other than the castle’s former grounds. It adjoins the 1.35-hectare Saint-Romain ‘Sous le Château’ vineyard.

Overlooking the village’s finest vineyard sites, this 15th-century château – formerly the priory residence of the Priory of Saint Hilaire – returned to family ownership over 150 years ago and is now reviving its centuries-old tradition of viticulture and winemaking.

POMMARD 1ER CRU
CLOS DES BOUCHEROTTES

Owned by the family since 1908, this vineyard has always been a jewel of the village. In 1507, it belonged to the Royal Estate. Its name derives from the old Burgundian patois word ‘boucho’, meaning ‘bush’, or from ‘bouchure’, meaning a dividing hedge. Its location on the border between Pommard and Beaune explains this name.

At the northernmost tip of Pommard, on the outskirts of Beaune.
This vineyard is flanked to the west by Le Clos des Mouches,
and bordered to the south and east by Les Petits Epenots.
