WINES AT THE CROSSROADS
BETWEEN TRADITION AND MODERNITY
Benoît Sordet, winemaker

Tradition and modernity go hand in hand in Burgundy. For centuries, Domaine Coste-Caumartin has been producing its wines using techniques rooted in its family heritage.

THE VINEYARDS

We use the Guyot pruning method. Our vines are debudded and then trained on trellises. We use green manure to improve soil fertility and structure.
Mechanical tillage is tailored to the soil type, with two objectives:
– to limit shallow rooting in favour of a deeper root system, which enables the vines to better withstand drought
– to aerate the soil to allow for better water absorption

GRAPE HARVEST, WINEMAKING AND AGEING

Domaine Coste-Caumartin is fortunate to be able to continue ageing its wines in its authentic vaulted cellar dating from the 17th century.

THE WINEMAKING PROCESS

WHITE WINES

RED WINES

Our regional appellations

aged for 10 months in stainless steel vats or barrels, depending on the vintage.

Our village and 1er Cru wines

Aged for 12 months in oak barrels (5 per cent of which are new) and then for 6 months in stainless steel vats. Stirring is carried out based on regular tastings of our white wines.
